NARAPHIL sponsors PHILMAT Seminar/Workshop

Tradition continues ......

...... while Vision fulfilled!

The emergence of these resilient group of dedicated NARAPHIL instructors whose leadership and credentials undeniably beyond doubt, are considered true Arnisadores on their own right! Patiently planning and creating more and more avenues for the young Turks to develop their potentials as they slowly mature into a responsible members of the organization.

They still believe that these young Turks are like wine, that as they are aged and becomes mature, the better they taste and mellow like wine. Like them, their encased ideals, dedication and commitment have made them sweeter (better) and mellower (stronger) like the wine. For it really comes from their heart and nothing else but to say, "For the love of arnis"!

Planning for the next stage!

For every endeavor comes a challenge, a unique activity, a different perspective and a different probable outcome. All these things are but a part of that planning that needs all the consideration to produce a positive output. But most of all ........ it's the teamwork that counts in the end of a successful activity.

The instructors and the participants, both utilizes same concept as shown on above and below pictures. Both trying to achieve the challenge that has been set unto them and be successful enough to produce a good outcome.

This is TEAMWORK!

Give us a break!!!

Enjoying the moment ......

Back to work .........

It's a whole lot of fun!

Mission accomplished!

Hello again Leo!

Salamat naman at natatandaan mo pa ako. I am staying in Luxembourg right now. I've been reading your blogs and I noticed that most of your are living abroad. I am missing Silver and Jun in the pictures though.
I am happy that you still stick to your ideals about making Naraphil a well-disciplined and non-profit organization. I've always been proud of Naraphil because of this. I wanted my son to follow my footsteps in liking martial arts. I enrolled him in a judo class but he didn't like it. But when i started to show him how arnis works, he just loved it! Unfortunately, we don't have the Naraphil here and i am not interested in making him join any other arnis org as most of them seem fancy. There are a few arnis orgs in Germany and Belgium. I am missing arnis a lot. I've watched a few videos on youtube and i have been searching for you guys for as long as i can remember.
Greetings to everyone.

Blanche,

What makes us different from the other arnis group is our enthusiasm in trying to promote the cultural aspect of the art rather than the combative or sports aspect (tournament). Knowing the origin of its movement and applying them into the combative or sports makes a great advantage. No wonder (for the record) that all our members who qualified and participated in world tourneys, became world champions in there own weight categories.

We try to preserved all those things and documented them and personally I still practice them as a physical conditioning. We delve more on the youth training program because we believe that they are the hope of preserving our art with our mission and vision.

I don't know if you still remember that motto, "ARNIS for Self-discipline; DISCIPLINE for progress". We still believe in that! The only thing that could probably change our attitudes and moral decadence for our country.

I quit the gov't. service for that very reason that I don't want to dip my fingers anymore for those scalawags and they are really infectious!

But I still believe there are still few good men to run our country. This is probably where we can help to start everything!

As for Silver and Jun, they are still active. Veriong can be seen in international boxing matches and sometimes call me here in Texas whenever he is in States. Jun is currently our Secretary General of NARAPHIL and Cmdt of the San Beda College of Alabang.

You can e-mail me @ naraphil_01@yahoo.com. God bless and take care!

Blanche,

By the way, Jun is always in the pictures but you couldn't hardly recognize him dahil tumaba na rin siya. Laging si Veriong ang wala, its either laging absent or very late kung umattend ng aming mga affairs. So when picture taking time comes, lagi siyang wala! (Out of the picture).

But anyway he is still very active with us. His primary focus is his boxing referee career and his being a Makati cop is just a side-line! He! he! he!

You may not be able to recognize most of my brothers who taught the KB's in Makiling because they are all now fat boyz! He! he! he! - Vigie Gallardo, Rene Fernandez, Bong "Tibak" Rogacion, Andy Octubre, Zaldie Franco, Noel Estepa, Monching Del Carmen, Boboy Herras, Ed Paz, Jimmy Meneses, Veriong Abainza, Jun Martinada, Ruben Gablan, Ben Pacia and me.

Vigie is here in States with his hospital/laboratory distributing company; Rene is a branch manager of BPI; Bong is Maynilad supervisor in Cavite; Andy and Noel are both in Canada working; Zaldie is a Chief Engr. in one of the ship owned by our brother Capt. Ric Sarte; Monching is in California @ silicon valley Amkor-Anang executive supervisor; Boboy in New Jersey with his company; Ed is with the US embassy staff in Manila; Jimmy is with Napocor; Veriong, Makati cop; Jun is with San Beda Alabang; Ruben is teaching in Makati HS; Ben (no news about him); me, currently practicing here in Texas.

We thank God for all the blessings that He has bestowed upon us - i.e. being successful in our own field of endeavors, carreers and businesses. That's why we believe that one of the way to repay that blessing is through the very root where we met each other from the first place - i.e. ARNIS!

We are only trying to open an avenue for the young turks to excel better from us and abide by our ideals we want them to live with or become better leader in their own community or counrty as well.

Have a nice day ahead!

Hello again, Manong,

Thanks for the response. I think i just have to look at the pictures again to find everyone i know from Naraphil. I've seen Vigie so far, and yes, he has changed a lot too. Noel still looks the same as before.

Speaking of gaining weight...I am raising my hand up. Ha!ha!ha! I can make up millions of excuses, but it will all end up to the fact that i aged a lot since my arnis days. Age did not only make me gain weight but it sedated me from being wild! he he he. I am now nicer than before...in my very own opinion. I will be attaching my latest pictures and you can either wonder if that' s really me, or you can admire my new form of beauty, or criticize it, or have pity on me, or just bin it. It's okay, i'll understand...ha!ha!ha!

I will turn 50 this year...unbelievable, but true. They said that age is just a number...a number of aches and pains that i feel in my body. I can name them all chronologically or alphabetically. I married late and divorced early. I live with my 20 year old son, who refuses to abandon me because he thinks that i am his live entertainment center. Our lives revolve around travel. We travelled and still are travelling a lot. We like learning new cultures, new languages and people.

I am so glad to have found Naraphil again. I did the dance of joy (you can mental picture it if you want...ha!ha!ha!) upon seeing you all back again. I forwarded the link to my youngest sister who was also a fan of Naraphil. All my sisters are now in the US (NJ,NY and CA)---and they are all old too...just like me! . We keep in touch thru information superhighway or just by phone.

Silver suprised me a lot. I never thought that he will be a cop and a boxing referee! Wow! it sounds macho! Do you know that we are somehow related to each other? Nanay explained it to me and to him a long time ago, but i can't remember now as to how we are related to each other. I can't ask Nanay now coz she's been dead for nine years. Perhaps i can ask Silver when we meet again.

Again, please give my regards to the group. I will be attaching my Before and Present pictures. I'd like to attach my future pictures too, but you might find them hideous and scare you off.

Greetings,

Blanche

PS: Oooops! I tried to e-mail you on the addy that you gave me but mail was returned. Anyway, I am also a blogger on this site: www.blanche-us.blogspot.com. I will also keep myself posted with Naraphil events thru this blogspot. Thanks again.
